Running, volunteering, and spectating at races are some of my favorite things to do. The atmosphere is competitive, yes, but also supportive and festive. It’s a grand party with a lot of sweat.
GenXers are well represented at races. In 2015 (the latest year for which I could find statistics), 45% of road race finishers were between the ages of 35 and 55.
It’s easy for a person of any age to look around and see a classmate. So don’t let a fear of not fitting in keep you from enjoying the fun of a race!
